The FaithFeed: Anthony - From Music to Self Discovery
1 month away until The FaithFeed’s next studio audience - registrations now open via: tinyurl.com/studioaudience During the last studio audience event, singer-songwriter, Anthony, shared a bit about what helped him remember some of his most significant life moments? Music it seemed, in particularly the songs he had written, have served as a way of cataloguing the ups and downs of his life. Interestingly, in more recent reflections, Anthony has discovered that his melodies loaded with personal memories have increasingly become channels where he can recognise God’s activity in an enlivening and personal way. The FaithFeed: Joy - Finding the way: wife, mum, professional
2 weeks away until The FaithFeed’s next studio audience - registrations now open via: tinyurl.com/studioaudience Joy's story, whilst being uniquely her own, connects with many contexts of young families in Sydney. Juggling marriage, parenthood and her profession, Joy has had the challenge of finding what faith means in her real life rather than theory. Being stretched in so many directions has challenged her to confront the expectations that she either feels from others or believes herself. Even her marriage relationship seemed painfully isolating as she was wrestling with her yearnings and her God. More than ever, Joy has recently recognised that although faith doesn't insulate her from a struggle-free life, it is an unyielding source of hope, optimism and enthusiasm for the present moment. The FaithFeed: Phil - Crisis & Clarity
Reflecting on key moments of crisis and clarity in recent years, 28-year-old Phil explores his experiences of the thrill that new life phases can bring, the challenge of finding purpose and the unexpected potential to discover the extraordinary, especially when life seems mundane, repetitive and directionless. During one such experience, Phil describes that “...being in silence alone with your thoughts is a very unfamiliar experience. It was in the space of emptiness and silence that I was starting to see that God entering into human life is happening right now in in my personal life as well." The FaithFeed: Jodie & Michael - Faith in the Process Beyond Outcomes
Faith is sometimes perceived as a source of blessing that produces happiness or success. For married couple Jodie & Michael, their experiences of the ups and downs as parents reveal another side to what it means to have faith. For them, faith has become less a ‘thing’ that produces the outcomes they’ve most desired; and less something that reduces the likelihood of difficulties and struggles that come their way. Rather, through the lowest times, they’ve come to find faith as a way through; even sometimes through to the unexpected; they’ve recognised faith as a source of hope; a connection; a knowing that God walks with them in the messiness of life. The FaithFeed: Kester - Uncertainty, Unexpected Life Pillars & the Steps Ahead
October saw The FaithFeed’s 3rd studio audience event, featuring the story of Kester, a 29-year-old male and his initial vision of purpose and direction. Not long ago, however, he felt himself blaming God for the shock of what became a very different reality. Now a bit of distance from the experience, he shares the surprise of the key life pillars that emerged in that fragility, allowing him to come through to this point and to encourage the search ahead.
